Where is Lake Champlain Bakery located? +

We're located at Bulevardul Eroilor 5, Cluj-Napoca, 400129, Romania. We're in the heart of Cluj-Napoca, easily accessible by public transportation and with street parking available nearby. Visit us during our business hours: Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, and Sunday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Do you accept online orders? +

Currently, we accept orders via phone (+40 21 123 17 10), email (hello@lakechamplainweb.com), or in person at our bakery. For daily items like bread and pastries, no reservation is needed—simply visit us during business hours. For custom cakes and catering orders, we recommend contacting us at least 2-3 weeks in advance.

Can I order a custom-designed cake? +

Absolutely! We specialize in custom cake designs for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and corporate events. Our cake designer will work with you to create exactly what you envision. We require 2-3 weeks' advance notice for elaborate designs. Contact us to schedule a consultation where we'll discuss design, flavors, size, and pricing. We also offer tastings so you can choose your favorite flavors.

What ingredients do you use? +

We use only natural, high-quality ingredients with no artificial additives or preservatives. Our flour is organic and locally sourced when possible. We use European-style butter with high butterfat content, fresh eggs, real vanilla, and premium chocolate. Our sourdough starters are over 5 years old and maintained daily. We believe in transparency—if you have questions about specific ingredients in any product, please ask!

Do you offer gluten-free or vegan options? +

Yes! We offer gluten-free and vegan options for custom cakes and some pastries. Please note that our facility also processes wheat and other allergens, so while we take precautions, we cannot guarantee zero cross-contamination. For custom orders, let us know your dietary requirements during the consultation, and we'll create something delicious that meets your needs.

How far in advance should I order a custom cake? +

We recommend ordering 2-3 weeks in advance for custom cakes, especially for weddings or elaborate designs. This allows time for consultation, design approval, and production. For simpler designs or smaller cakes, we may be able to accommodate shorter notice—please contact us to check availability. During peak seasons (May-September for weddings), booking even earlier is advisable.

Do you deliver? +

We offer delivery for custom cake orders over 300 RON within Cluj-Napoca metro area. Catering orders also include delivery. Delivery fees vary based on distance and order size. For daily bread and pastries, we recommend visiting our bakery for the freshest experience. Wholesale partners receive scheduled daily deliveries.

Our bestsellers include: Classic Sourdough (48-hour fermentation), Butter Croissants (made fresh daily), Pain au Chocolat, Custom Wedding Cakes, Lemon Raspberry Cake, and our seasonal fruit tarts. Our sourdough often sells out by mid-afternoon, so arrive early for the best selection!

Do you offer baking classes or workshops? +

Yes! We periodically offer hands-on baking workshops covering topics like sourdough bread-making, croissant techniques, and pastry fundamentals. Classes are limited to small groups for personalized instruction. Workshop schedules are posted on our social media and available by inquiry. Perfect for date nights, team building, or anyone wanting to learn artisan baking techniques!

Can I visit your bakery kitchen? +

While our production kitchen is not open for casual tours due to food safety regulations, we do offer special bakery tours by appointment for groups and educational purposes. During workshops, participants work in our professional kitchen. Our retail area has a viewing window where you can watch our bakers at work during morning hours.

Do you supply to restaurants and cafes? +

Yes! We offer wholesale partnerships for restaurants, cafes, hotels, and specialty food stores. We provide daily bread deliveries, pastries, and custom items. Wholesale pricing is available for regular orders. Contact us to discuss your needs, order frequency, and to receive our wholesale catalog and pricing information.

How should I store your bread? +

For optimal freshness: Keep bread at room temperature in a paper bag or bread box for 2-3 days. Never refrigerate bread—it accelerates staling. For longer storage, slice and freeze bread in an airtight bag for up to 3 months. Toast frozen slices directly or thaw at room temperature. Our naturally fermented sourdough stays fresh longer than commercial bread due to its natural acidity.

What payment methods do you accept? +

We accept cash, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), and debit cards. For custom cake orders, we require a 50% deposit at the time of booking, with the balance due upon pickup or delivery. Wholesale accounts can be invoiced with net-30 terms after approval.

Can I freeze your cakes? +

Yes! Unfrosted cake layers freeze beautifully for up to 3 months when well-wrapped. Frosted cakes can also be frozen, though some decorations may be affected. For wedding cakes, we offer a traditional service of packaging the top tier for your first anniversary—simply freeze it in an airtight container. Thaw cakes in the refrigerator overnight before serving.

Do you use organic ingredients? +

We use organic flour for most of our breads and prioritize organic ingredients whenever possible. We work with local Romanian farmers and suppliers who share our commitment to quality and sustainability. While not every ingredient is certified organic, we avoid all artificial additives, preservatives, and GMOs. Ask our staff about specific products if you have questions.
